Refund & Return Policy

Fair, Secure, and Transparent

Because Taskora deals in digital services and intellectual property, traditional returns do not apply. However, our secure Escrow system ensures that your funds are protected and outlines clear guidelines for when refunds are issued.

Sri Lanka’s Trusted Freelance Platform's Refund & Return Policy

Last Updated: 05/12/2026

At Taskora (operated by the MNE Group), we strive to ensure 100% satisfaction for both our global Employers and our Sri Lankan Freelancers. Because our platform facilitates the delivery of intangible digital goods and services, we have established the following rules regarding the refund of Escrow funds.

1. The Role of Escrow

To protect both parties, Employer payments are held securely in the Taskora Escrow system before any work begins.

    • For Employers: Your money is safe. Funds are only released to the Freelancer when you approve the delivered work.
    • For Freelancers: You are guaranteed payment for approved work, as the funds are verified and held by Taskora before you start.

2. Conditions for a Full Refund

An Employer is entitled to a full refund of their Escrow funds (including the 12% Taskora platform fee) under the following conditions:

    • Cancellation Before Work Begins: The project is mutually cancelled by both the Employer and the Freelancer before any work has commenced.
    • Non-Delivery: The Freelancer fails to deliver the agreed-upon work within the established deadline and is unresponsive to communication.
    • Mutual Agreement: Both the Employer and the Freelancer mutually agree to terminate the contract and return the funds to the Employer.

3. Dispute Resolution & Partial Refunds

If the Freelancer delivers the work, but the Employer believes it does not meet the requirements outlined in the original project brief:

    • Revisions First: The Employer must first request revisions from the Freelancer to correct the work.
    • Mediation: If an agreement cannot be reached after revisions, either party can open a Dispute.
    • Taskora Intervention: Our Dispute Resolution Team will review the original project brief, platform communications, and the delivered files. Taskora will make a final, binding decision to either release the funds to the Freelancer, issue a full refund to the Employer, or issue a partial refund based on the percentage of work completed.

4. When Refunds Are NOT Issued

Taskora cannot issue refunds under the following circumstances:

    • Funds Already Released: Once an Employer manually approves the work and releases the funds from Escrow to the Freelancer, the transaction is considered final and non-refundable. Employers must carefully review all deliverables before clicking approve.
    • Change of Mind: Refunds are not issued if the Employer simply changes their mind about the project after the Freelancer has already completed the work according to the original brief.
    • Off-Platform Activity: If users violate our Terms & Conditions by communicating or paying outside of the Taskora platform, they forfeit all Escrow protections and refund eligibility.

5. Processing Times and Fees

    • Timeline: Approved refunds are processed immediately by Taskora, but it may take 5 to 10 business days for the funds to appear on your original payment method, depending on your bank or credit card provider.
    • Gateway Fees: While Taskora will refund our 12% platform fee on eligible cancelled projects, standard processing fees charged by third-party payment gateways (like Stripe or PayPal) are generally non-refundable, subject to the gateway’s own policies.
