Sri Lanka’s Trusted Freelance Platform's Terms & Conditions
Last Updated: 05/12/2026
Welcome to Taskora.lk, a digital marketplace operated by the MNE Group. By registering for an account, accessing, or using our platform, you agree to be bound by the following Terms and Conditions.
1. Account Eligibility and Verification (KYC)
To use Taskora, you must be at least 18 years old and capable of forming legally binding contracts.
- Mandatory KYC: All Freelancers and Employers must complete our Know Your Customer (KYC) verification process. Taskora reserves the right to suspend or terminate any account that provides false, inaccurate, or misleading information during this process.
2. Platform Role & Relationship
Taskora serves exclusively as a digital bridge (a venue) connecting global Employers with Sri Lankan Freelancers.
- No Employment Relationship: Taskora does not employ the freelancers on this platform. When an Employer hires a Freelancer, they are entering into a direct, binding contract with each other. Taskora is not a party to this contract, but we provide the secure platform and Escrow tools to facilitate it.
3. Fees and Payments
All transactions on Taskora are conducted in USD to maintain global standards.
- Employer Fees: Employers are charged a flat 12% platform fee on top of the agreed project price. This covers escrow management, payment processing, and platform maintenance.
- Freelancer Earnings: Freelancers keep 100% of their bid price. The only deductions will be the standard third-party processing or withdrawal fees applied by your chosen payment gateway (e.g., Payoneer, Wise, or local bank transfers).
4. The Taskora Escrow System
To guarantee security for both parties, all project payments must go through the Taskora Escrow System.
- Funding: Before a Freelancer begins work, the Employer must fully fund the agreed project amount into Escrow.
- Release of Funds: Funds are only released to the Freelancer’s wallet once the Employer reviews and approves the submitted work, or if a predefined milestone is met.
5. Non-Circumvention (No Off-Platform Payments)
This is a critical rule of the Taskora network.
- Users are strictly prohibited from requesting, offering, or accepting payments outside of the Taskora platform for any work initiated or discovered through Taskora.
- Attempting to bypass the Escrow system and platform fees will result in the immediate and permanent ban of both the Employer and Freelancer accounts from the MNE Group network.
6. Dispute Resolution
If an Employer is unsatisfied with the delivered work, they must request revisions from the Freelancer. If the parties cannot reach an agreement, Taskora offers a Dispute Resolution service. Our team will review the original project scope, communications, and deliverables to make a final, binding decision on the release or refund of Escrow funds.
7. User Conduct
Users agree to communicate professionally at all times. Harassment, discriminatory language, spamming, or the sharing of illegal and offensive content will result in immediate account termination.
8. Limitation of Liability
The MNE Group and Taskora shall not be held liable for any indirect, incidental, or consequential damages arising from the use of our platform, including but not limited to lost profits, data loss, or project delays caused by users.
9. Changes to Terms
Taskora reserves the right to modify these Terms and Conditions at any time. We will notify users of significant changes via email or a platform notification. Continued use of the platform after updates constitutes acceptance of the new terms.
